Contest Story Writing (Read the rules carefully)

Ok I've recieved all the stories and the voting will begin. To make sure every story gets the same attention you will be required to write a small review (5 lines or so) about each story. This to make sure everyone has read all the stories.

Now we have two categories: Fun Fiction and Serious Fiction. So at the end we get two winners. The winner will get a 1337 prize.

Now start the reading, start the voting, start the flaming and start voting for Arch (Wut?).

Glun's Note: Alien Encounter is an abbridged version (shortened). The possibility exists that I may continue work on it to create a full-fledged story and, of course, properly finish the battle and training.

Silly stories first! Well, um...they're kinda silly. o_o I don't even really know what to say about them..... u_u I'm better off with the serious stories.

Decimation
Fun. I like the concept of the stages changing by the aliens learning from the humans. And I like the fact that the aliens decimated the humans. XD Go aliens! Oh, and that general is really dumb. One hopes the military has a bit more intelligence than that.
Just one thing - you gave the dragoons barbs before the Overmind created them. Silly boy.

The Price We Pay
Oh, whoops, that's my story. ^_^ I originally wanted to call it "Memento Mori", which fits it better, but I think it's overused. Neutral

The Invasion of Earth
As I started reading, my first thought was "I wonder why he chose to write this in first person." Then I got to the second chapter, and I saw that you're writing from the point of view of yourself! Shocked

Baaad idea. Odds are, that's a Mary Sue character. I'll keep reading.
Okay, finished. The story wasn't long enough to see if my suspicion was correct or not. Darn. It was well written, in any case. But too short.

Alien Encounter
I'm still at the beginning, but wth? o_O
Lol, a dream. Okay, never mind.
After reading the training bit, I think it's safe to say that Glun has never had any dealings with the army. Wink

Glun says: It's set in the future. The future army handles things slightly differently. Also, I couldn't go into detail anymore because of the word limit.
Well! I liked that story very muches. Let's see...I like the fact that you stuck the word "tremulous" in, I very much like the evolution of the main character. Good writing, good characterization, good plot. Even one of those cliched dream sequences. XD And you had a purring granger. That gets extra points.

Glun totally gets my vote!

Just to clarify about the dragoons shooting barbs, when the humans faced them, they were already stage 3 adv goons! I set the story so it saw human perspective, then alien, and aliens got s3 long before aliens humans attacked.. I think thats where you thought I made the mistake...

And now for my opinions:

Decimation: Thast your decision to make, not mine xD

The Price we pay: I really liked how it could loop over and over again, it puts a good sinister twist on the telenodes.

Invasion of Earth: It was good, but a bit short to be honest.

Alien encounter: I liked the concept of regeneration, and how you made the perfect personality of unnamed player xD

Edit: Forgot to actually vote, so I'll firmly put mine in The price we pay, cuz I like loops, they make me think Razz

Yeah, when you're reading a story, you expect a linear timeline. But that's no excuse....I need to read more carefully. XD
