The problem with Ubuntu and those other OSs is that they require constant updates, which means reinstallation of the whole OS (such as yours). With vista, you just get update patches. No need to practically reinstall every jizzbit, especially when your missing the CDs/install files etc...
OT: Well, get it done nice n easily... Or whatever.
P.S: No moar speak on OS wars please.

OS wars are foolish... If you like the OS then live happy ever after. If you don't like it then feel free to seek alternative.

I just want to say that what you say is completely false. You fricking don't need to reinstall a complete OS after every patch. Once every 6 months they just release a new version of the OS, bit like XP -> Vista. And I laugh my ass of at the fact that you say those OSs need constant updates xD If once every half year is a constant update and the rest are just some small patches not different from those you get on Vista.
Try using it first before forming an opinion.
