Okay, so when I start up the game, it's dark and dull. I set the brightness lighter, and get error - cannot change brightness messages that spam my console. BUT: if I zero out the bar, then move it back up, I still get the error messages but it does get brighter.

The part that annoys me is that it's dark and hard to see when I start the game.

Part two: - Unrelated to trem, yet still affects trem.

No sound. I can get sound on one or two games of mine, but none on Trem and MSN. I don't get sound from internet browser. I don't get sound from all computer functions. Two games of mine the sound actually work >_< This is annoying, as my computer is dictating what game I should play.

You said this'd be easy Atmie. -.-

But there is good news!! I just saved a bu-

I mean, I GOT THE BINDS TO WORK!! YEY ME!! (actually, yey eternal...)

The brightness is because Tremulous can't the gamma ramp right in Vista. Try running tremulous.exe in "windows xp service pack 2" mode.

No clue about the sound. Just switch to Linux! X3

Go bleed to death from that wound in your wrist before suggesting Linux.

As for Romeo, that brightness error spam is just spam. It's harmless. I have no idea why people get annoyed when that happens. And if it resets to darkness everytime you reset trem, then you have to go to your autogen, dig up the gamma/brightness thing and copy it and paste it into your autoexec.cfg for it to autoexec (duh).

As for sound, i think you should check up your sound card. Look for drivers. Or call your manufacturer/dealer. As long as it's under warranty, they are obliged to help you (slit their wrists and make them bleed to death, before suggesting Linux).

Rofl amt the problem of the brightness is fixable by running tremulous.exe in Windows xp service pack 2 mode. It isn't spam. It doesn't change your brightness after a certain point. I believe the error message was "Can't set gamma ramp" or something along those lines. It's not a bug in tremulous but rather in microsuckz Vista.

Solution:

Click tremulous.exe
Open Menu
Properties
Compatability (windows xp SP2)

Then run tremulous.exe and try it again.

Alternative and permanent solution: Abandon OS. Kill Vista. Get mac, or linux, or something.
Or just revert to something before vista, of course...

Sending it to a computer geek this week. Brightness fixed, thanks Arch.

No theories on the sound? Sad

When I started it up, it had a error screen that was like "Abnormal shutdown, start in normally or in safe mode?" and I'm like o_O;; Normal pls. And then it started up and then no sound. ._.

But games Cave Story and Granado Espada have sound that works perfectly fine. ...........

Another thing: I was at my dad's house. My dad lives where there is high humidity, and it is very cold. Ideal for mold.

Another nother thing: That day, the internet was going on and off all day, a problem from the cable people, not my computer/household. (TV was going too)

Is this the shutdown message?

If so then the problem lies in recently installed hardware or software. Had this error message too and it's one of the reasons I switched to Linux. Vista gives more compatibility problem then any other OS >.< Problem is called Blue screen of death.

I suggest if this is what you get to deinstall any recently installed hardware/software then clean your pc to make sure everything is gone (CCleaner for example). After this reinstall the software and make sure you have the right drivers (Not the XP onces). Also you can try to run it in XP compatibility mode. This almost always fixes the problem.

If this isn't the problem then try to make a screen of the error message. This would help to locate the problem.

Nope. It was black, and it had an option to start in safe mode.

And I don't get the error message anymore.

Trem + no sound is extremely hard. I can't tell what is around me, as I can't hear their footsteps. So I'm charging Bsuits with dretches....

I also can't tell if I'm pouncing/biting right.

(Not like I was ever good at Gooning...)

And I can't tell how much HP people have left by their pain-crys.

Send it to the geeks for sound.

And Glun and Arch STOP INSULTING VISTA!! >=[ >.< It's a new OS, so 'course it'd have some compatability problems.

And i believe if it was black and asked you to start in safe mode, you'd still be booting up. I've seen it.

As for that brightness stuff, i just set my brightness in console. Slider works, spams me, but works. 'Cos you dont use vista, you think it's not spam.

No.

It's a ripped-off OS which didn't work out well, was delayed many times and F*gged up anyway. It deserves no respect.

Glun, that's like me calling Findland (or wherever the hell you live) a loser just because I know nothing about it.
It's like calling CGS newb because nobody posts there anymore.

I like Vista because it's not Mac.

I don't like Mac because I don't like how it organizes things.

I'm not intrested in switching to Linux, Umbutnu, etc.

As far as I know me and Amtie aren't flaming Mac.

You will stop or I'm leaving CEBT. It's stupid shit like this that pisses me off. Not only was your first post not helpful, it was rude. Now you're following up with a blatent troll to somoene who kindly asked you to stop.
I am dead serious.
