In our defense, Achmed is a legitimate way to write it, since the English language doesn't really have a way to pronounce that sound. I think 'kh' should be used for it, personally.....so that gives us Akhmed? Why not? Very Happy

When pronounced in english, Ahmed is pronounced Aa-med. And since when was the soft H anywhere near the sound of kh?

Oh, you don't pronounce your name with the 'kh' sound? =o That's unusual. As far as I know, when spoken in Arabic the name is pronounced like Dunham pronounces it.

The land of Arabs? o_0 What place are you talking about?

Yeah, my experience is confined to Israel, but I've always heard the 'kh' sound here. I dunno.

I think it's 2 different versions of the same root made into a name >_>

Just a thought though cause I've heard BOTH from people here. . .

Just my opinion though, don't take this in any way as a knowledgeable.... you get the idea?
